The 8-Concert Classical Series is the core of the Philharmonic Orchestra season. Classical Series concerts take place on Saturday evenings at 8:00 at The Vets, Providence. MUSIC DIRECTOR LARRY RACHLEFF, beginning his 16th season with the Orchestra, will conduct seven concerts, with GUEST CONDUCTOR MICHAEL STERN taking the podium for the October 15 concert. Following each of his concerts, Mr. Rachleff, frequently accompanied by the guest soloist or a member of the Orchestra, holds casual post-concert conversations with members of the audience. RESIDENT CONDUCTOR FRANCISCO NOYA presents informal pre-concert talks from 7:00-7:25 before each concert; Philharmonic Music School students frequently perform in the mezzanine lobby from 7:15-7:45.
