Alanna Tonetti-Tieppo grew up in North Attleboro, Massachusetts. She started playing the violin at age 4 at the Hamilton Country Day School under the instruction of Olga Hamilton. She always had a strong passion for music but it was more focused on singing until she joined the Greater Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra (GBYSO) at age 11. Through GBYSO she was introduced to her present violin teacher Magdalena Richter and after a year of study, she auditioned for the Walnut Hill School in Natick , Massachusetts . She is now a Senior at Walnut Hill and hopes to attend a conservatory program in the fall. She also loves chamber music and hopes to pursue it professionally. Her string quartet was accepted to the semi-finals of the Fischoff International Chamber Music Competition. Other interests include singing and cooking.
