Welcome to the Teacher's Guide for the 2008 Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra Education Concerts!
Concerts will be held on Wednesday, May 7th at 9:45 and 11:30 and May 8th at 9:45 and 11:30 at the VMA with Francisco Noya conductor.>

| This year, the Philharmonic will present "Tunes and Tales," an education concert that demonstrates the narrative power of music. The Orchestra will perform music that tells stories, with selections from Williams' Harry Potter Suite , Ravel's Mother Goose Suite , and Grieg's In the Hall of the Mountain King. The winners of the 2007-2008 Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra & Music School Concerto Competition, Alanna Tonetti-Tieppo and Daisy Joo, will also perform. A sing-along will be held at the concert, and students may submit their own stories inspired by the music to the Philharmonic. |
