In-School Ensembles

The Music School of the Rhode Island Philharmonic offers more than twenty In-School Ensembles and residencies featuring our 85 teachers and 50 orchestra players.  Musical styles include jazz ("Intro to Jazz", "Inspiration"), classical ("Talking Cello", "Going For Baroque", "Meet the Brass"), world ("Rhythm and Roots"), and folk ("The Whompers").  Subjects feature listening, composing, improvising, and telling stories.  All ensembles are interactive with students, and address national music standards.  In addition, our musicians can work with classroom teachers to design residencies and workshops that integrate with classroom curricula.
